American States Water is a holding company. Co. is the parent company of Golden State Water Company (GSWC), Bear Valley Electric Service Inc. (BVESI), and American States Utility Services, Inc. (ASUS). Co. has three reportable segments: water, electric and contracted services. Within the segments, Co. has three principal business units, water and electric service utility operations conducted through its regulated utilities, GSWC and BVESI, respectively, and contracted services conducted through ASUS and its subsidiaries.
