| Cyteir Therapeutics, Inc. is a clinical-stage biotechnology company. Co. is focused on developing of CYT-0851, an oral investigational drug candidate that inhibits monocarboxylate transporters. CYT-0851 is an investigational monocarboxylate transporter inhibitor (MCT) inhibitor, initially evaluated in a phase I/II study to treat patients with hematologic malignancies and solid tumors as a monotherapy and in combination with standard of care therapies. Inhibiting MCT function in glycolytic cancer cells leads to an accumulation of intracellular lactate that impairs glycolysis and inhibits tumor cell growth, making MCTs an attractive target for cancer therapy.
