| Zion Oil and Gas is an oil and gas exploration company. Co. holds working interest in an active petroleum exploration license onshore Israel, the Megiddo-Jezreel License. Under Israeli law, Co. has an exclusive right to oil and gas exploration in its license area in that no other company may drill there. In the event Co. drills an oil or gas discovery in its license area, existing Israeli law entitles Co. to convert the relevant portions of its license to a 30-year production lease, extendable to 50 years, subject to compliance with a field development work program and production.
